New Director brings a depth of Hill experience and health policy messaging expertise to BMA’s winning team

Washington, D.C. – Better Medicare Alliance (BMA), the leading advocacy coalition dedicated to Medicare Advantage, announced the recent addition of Jonathan Frank as Communications Director.

As the past Communications Director for Horizon Government Affairs and the BMA- allied Council for Affordable Health Coverage, Frank brings a depth of health policy communications experience to the BMA team. This includes past public affairs work on a number of shared priorities with BMA, as well as keen experience on Capitol Hill. Previously, Frank served in a variety of roles for then-Congresswoman Diane Black (R- TN), Chairman of the House Budget Committee and a member of the Ways and Means Committee, including stints as Press Secretary and Communications Director, culminating in a dual role with the House Budget Committee.

“This is an important time to be communicating the value of Medicare Advantage as plans, providers, and community partners are finding innovative ways to meet the needs of millions of seniors and people with disabilities. Health care is top of mind for policymakers and everyday Americans and we look forward to Jonathan playing a key role in articulating the high-quality, low costs, consumer protections, and enhanced benefits that are critical to the health and well-being of millions of Medicare beneficiaries. Jonathan’s role will be central to BMA’s advocacy and communications strategy to inform and engage the many stakeholders to support Medicare Advantage as part of health care policy for the future,” said Allyson Y. Schwartz, President and CEO of the Better Medicare Alliance.

Frank’s writings on behalf of past principals and clients have appeared in Time, Forbes, Modern Healthcare, Medical Economics, The Hill, STAT News, Fox News, Washington Examiner, Morning Consult, and others.
